MORNING LIGHT is a Series I Ranger 27 Tug designed to be transported on a trailer and comes with a 2014 EZ-Loader tandem-axle galvanized bunk-type trailer. Powered by an electronically-controlled and common-rail fuel-injected 200-horsepower Volvo-Penta D3 diesel engine with fewer than 400 hours, MORNING LIGHT sips fuel at 10 knots yet can deliver a top speed of near 20 knots when conditions call for it. Optioned with the Northwest Package including diesel-fired Cabin Heating, 2000W Inverter, Solar Array and much more, this Ranger Tug is ready to do the Great Loop or take you on adventures near or far.
MORNING LIGHT is comfortably boarded from the swim platform into the covered cockpit with full zippered enclosure for foul-weather cruising. The cockpit sole raises to expose the engine and aft bilge. On either side of the cockpit are hinged lids covering machinery spaces for pumps, heaters, batteries and inverter. Convenient steps are molded into the forward corners to allow easy access to side decks and cabin top.
Forward through the aft cabin door, one enters the salon with quarter-berth entrance (sleeps 2) to port and stand-up head with shower to starboard. Moving ahead on the port side we find a convertible dinette that seats 4 and sleeps 2 with unique forward seating that hinges forward to become seating for the navigator/co-pilot. To starboard we find the galley with propane stove and oven, stainless steel sink with hot/cold faucet, under-counter single-door refrigerator with integral freezer, storage drawers and locker, all topped by a seamless easily-maintained countertop.
At the front of the cabin and to starboard is the helm station with ergonomically-mounted controls, instrumentation and navigational electronics. Adjacent to the helm station is a sliding door that grants access to the side and foredeck for line-handling deck, anchoring or fender placement.
Overhead throughout the cabin are hatches to admit fresh air and abundant light. The headliner with teak battens contains flush-mounted LED lighting for nighttime activities and located above the center windshield is the flat-screen TV with DVD player.
Finally, stepping down and through the privacy door we find the generous master stateroom with v-berth and filler cushion. The lid of the berth is hinged to provide access to a cavernous storage area suitable for clothes, linens, and other bulky material. Once again, generous overhead lighting and ventilation is provided by screened hatches and LED lighting.
The entire interior of the boat is heated by a thermostatically-controlled diesel-fired hot air heater.
