The condition of this GB 36MY is truly outstanding!

"Loons Call" is a beautiful example of the popular Grand Banks 36 Motoryacht. The 36 Motoryacht makes a wonderful extended cruiser as well as a day boat or weekender. Grand Banks teak joinery work gives a practical beauty above and below decks. The cabin soles are teak parquet throughout and the main decks are teak planked. This 2 stateroom arrangement is very desirable as it gives one a large aft stateroom and an equally attractive forward stateroom also with a queen walk-around bed, both have ensuite heads and showers.

An all-round seaworthy performer and a comfortable ride. Cruising at 12 knots is easily achieved with the T-275hp 3116 Cat engines. Additional equipment includes Northern Lights 5 kw generator, Simrad electronics,

The large salon opens through either the port or starboard side door. There is an L-settee to starboard with storage space beneath. The hi-lo table is oval with drop leaf in the traditional Grand Banks hand rubbed satin varnished Burmese teak. To port is the large built-in galley with cold plate refrigerator/freezer, Princess (3) burner stove and oven. The galley & salon have excellent visibility, light and ventilation.

The master stateroom aft cabin is down from the salon through hinged teak double doors. The stateroom is large with abundant drawer storage and a large walk-in locker. Centerline is the oversized queen island bed with drawers and (2) nightstands on either side. The interior is done in typical Grand Banks fine varnished teak joinery. There are numerous opening ports and deck hatches for light and ventilation. The master cabin has en-suite head which includes a electric vacuflush head, shower stall and counter with sink. The white headliner is used throughout the interior and there are flush mounted light fixtures in the headliner. Brass reading lights are placed above the headboard.

The forward cabin also has a queen island berth soles. Drawers are provided beneath the berth and in a bureau to starboard. A large hanging locker with teak door is portside. Opening windows with screens and curtains, together with a large overhead hatch provide natural light and ventilation. The white headliner is used throughout the interior and there are flush mounted light fixtures in the headliner. Brass reading lights are placed above the berth.

The flybridge is very spacious with back-to-back seating port and starboard. The helm is to starboard with engine control, custom mounted instrumentation, a teak ship's wheel and navigation electronics. Sliding doors in the forward console access a large storage area in the bow. A Plexiglas venturi windscreen surrounds the helm area. Four sided Eisenglass enclosure and white canvas. The deck area above the aft cabin is spacious enough for two lounge chairs, an entertaining plus. Also two deck boxes for more storage and seating.

The straight galley is located port side amidships. Excellent light, ventilation and generous countertops provide an enjoyable location for preparing meals or serving delicacies. The large stainless steel sink makes cleanups simple.

Caterpillar 3116TA's

The Caterpillar 3116TA's are rated for 275 hp power with only 1310 hours

The Caterpillar 3116 is a turbo charged and aftercooled in-line six cylinder four stroke diesel engine. With a displacement of 6.6 litres or 402 cubic inches. The compression ratio is 16:1 and has a dry weight of 1500 lbs. The in-line six cylinder configuration has become the preferred arrangement for most marine applications because it enables one to service both sides of the engine and have adequate room between each engine in comparison to a V8. The 3116 caries 6.6 gallons of lubricating oil and 7.4 gallons of coolant (fresh water/ antifreeze).

Power Without Compromise

When it comes to reliable engine power, you can't afford to compromise. You need proven power. Optimum power. Honest power. Caterpillar understands how important your marine power needs are. That's why they design marine engines for superior reliability. That's why every Cat Marine Engine is built to last. And that's why when it comes to fuel consumption, Caterpillar engines are the efficient choice. Not just at certain rpm's but over their entire operating range.

Caterpillar also gives you honest horsepower right where you need it... at the crankshaft, not just on the engine spec sheet. That way you get all the power you pay for. And Cat reliability doesn't stop at the engine design. Because when you buy a Cat Marine Engine, you're assured of continuing product support. The worldwide service and computerized parts system are examples of the Cat commitment to keeping your engine in smooth operation.
