Accommodations

"FOR WHAT" has the preferred two stateroom layout with a queen-sized island berth forward in the master stateroom and two generous bunks in the portside stateroom. A single head with large stall shower and vacu-flush head is accessible from the companionway or the master. Aft is the salon to port with a large L-settee complete with a hide-a-way bed, entertainment center, and coffee table. To starboard is the galley with Corian counters, Subzero refrigerator/freezer drawers, loads of storage, two burner cook-top and microwave/convection oven.

The Cabo 45 accommodations are worthy of five stars and are just as striking as the exterior styling. Look at the craftsmanship in the woodwork. Every joint fits seamlessly. Bookmatched grains transform fine wood into art. Rich decorator fabrics caress both your body and your eye.

Even the most experienced chefs will appreciate the advanced appliances, room to work and unobstructed contact with the salon so they don't have to leave their guests while preparing a feast. A sealed cook-top, Corian counters, microwave, Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer, enough storage for a full set of pots, pans and utensils assure that you won't have to send out for pizza.

The salon, with its incredible designer inspired lighting and wide selection of designer fabrics, easily affords seating for eight. Or if you just feel lazy, stretch out and take a nap. Either way, comfort will be overwhelming.

The head, which opens from both the salon and the forward cabin, provides a vanity, Vacuflush head and full height stall shower plus lighting good enough for the most demanding make-up artist.

The forward cabin, with its large double bed, has enough storage space to keep a full set of spare clothes and accessories aboard rather than having to bring anything from home. In addition, in overhead bulkhead compartments, you'll find storage for a minimum of eight big offshore rods and reels behind beautiful cabinet doors with the signature Cabo hatch-work faces. Throughout the Cabo's luxurious interior are ingeniously designed rod storage lockers, where up to 24 offshore rods and reels are all stored out of sight.

Engine Room

Inside the engineroom you will find a pair of low hour (380 hours) MTU/Detroit Diesel Series 60 825 HP engines. This power package offers a great combination of speed and economy! A fast cruising speed of 28 knots gets you a range of 400 nautical miles and if you drop down to 21 knots your range tops 500 miles. Top speed is around 33 knots. She has the DDEC electronic controls and trolling valves for the ultimate control.

Ask any boat yard which boats their mechanics find the easiest to work on and Cabo tops the list. Why? Because at Cabo, every wire and pipe is run individually and labeled. Chafe protection goes on each bulkhead passage. There isn't a single inch of engine or equipment that can't be easily accessed for routine maintenance or repair.

Access to the engine room is gained through a comfortably large hatch in the cockpit and you won't need any maps to guide you to the filters, switches or valves. Why? Because there isn't a single system or piece of engine equipment that can't be easily accessed for routine maintenance or repair. The fuel lines are aircraft quality braided stainless steel for long life, every hose is double clamped for security, and the wiring and plumbing systems are aerospace quality. Special custom built air intakes supply the engine room with all the air the big turbo diesels need to run at peak efficiency while preventing corrosive salty mist outside from gaining access to your expensive power plants. The most experienced captains in the world were asked how they would set up their engine rooms. The culmination of that input can be seen here in the engine room of the 45 Express. Look under the engines and you will see every inch of surface has been finished with white gelcoat for cleanliness and ease of clean up after spills. An oil changing system is standard as are dripless stuffing boxes.

Construction

Perfection, though a bit overused, is the only word that can best describe a Cabo's construction. A solid fiberglass bottom using bi-axial stitched fiberglass and the best vinylester resins money can buy for strength and osmotic blistering protection, becomes more advanced as you travel further up the topsides. From the chine to the sheer, Cabo uses closed cell foam coring for superior lightweight strength. Every compartment and surface throughout the boat is finished- even places you will never see. Put your face up against a Cabo hull and sight along the side. You'll never see a blemish, dull spot or dimple because Cabo quality control simply doesn't allow it. Cabo takes steps in the construction and finishing of its boats that other boat builders would never consider because they are too time consuming and difficult.
